Regional Pricing (Purchasing-Power-Based Pricing)

I'd like to be able to set different prices for a product depending on where the customer is, so I can make it affordable in areas with lower purchasing power.

A flat price converted at the current exchange rate is still too expensive in many lower-income regions, and discount coupons are a clunky way to fix that. I'd like to be able to offer a fairer price in those regions.

This is related to the in-progress request "True Multi-Currency Pricing (Fixed Prices per Currency)". Fixed per-currency prices would cover part of this, but I'd also like purchasing-power-based recommendations and the ability to set a base price and override it per region, rather than managing every price by hand.

What I'd like:

  • Set a base price, then override it for specific regions (fixed amount or percentage discount), with the base price as the fallback.

  • Recommended prices based on local purchasing power, which I can review and adjust before applying.

For an example of how this can work, Steam sets different prices per currency and region for the same game based on local purchasing power: https://steamdb.info/app/220/
