Feature Request: Add Support for Ecuador Tax IDs (RUC / Cédula) for Individual and Business Accounts

Hello Creem Team,

I would like to request support for Ecuadorian tax identification numbers during the merchant onboarding process.

Currently, when selecting Ecuador as the Country of Tax Residency, there is no clear option to enter the official tax identifiers used in Ecuador. Supporting these identifiers would allow developers and businesses in Ecuador to register properly and comply with local tax regulations.

In Ecuador there are two primary tax identification formats:

1. RUC (Registro Único de Contribuyentes)

  • Used by registered businesses and professionals

  • 13-digit tax identification number

  • Required for companies and individuals who operate as registered taxpayers

2. Cédula de Identidad

  • Used by individuals

  • 10-digit national identification number

  • Commonly used by freelancers or independent developers

Suggested improvements:

  • Add Ecuador to the supported list of tax identification formats.

  • Allow validation for:

    • RUC (13 digits)

    • Cédula (10 digits)

  • Support onboarding for:

    • Individual / Sole Proprietor

    • Registered Business / Company

This would enable developers and SaaS founders in Ecuador to use Creem legally and confidently as a Merchant of Record platform.

Ecuador has a growing startup and indie developer ecosystem, and enabling these tax IDs would significantly increase adoption of Creem in the region.
